What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin injectables, such as Botox (also known as anti-wrinkle treatment), relaxes the muscles to prevent the muscle from moving for a limited time. therefore this can improve the appearance of lines & wrinkles.
Do you need Botox?
Botox can be used to treat a number of different issues a person may have, not just for ‘anti-ageing’ purposes. If you have expression lines, such as crows feet or frown lines then Botox may be recommended to reduce these lines. If you suffer with migraines, even after treatment from a Doctor then the Doctor may even suggest for you to try Botox to reduce migraines. This can be a very effective treatment for migraines. A person suffering with Bruxism (teeth grinding) may even turn to Botox to treat this condition as it will relax the muscle that causes the grinding.
Which areas can be treated with Botox?
The most common areas are on the forehead and around the eye area.


Patients may have 1, 2 or 3 areas treated. Other areas include; brow lift, upper lip lines, excessive sweating, migraine, Nefertiti lift (neck lines), gummy smile, bruxism, lip flip.
Is Botox safe?
Botox treatment are usually quite safe if they are administered by a licensed and skilled practitioner. As with any treatment, there is always a risk that you could get some unwanted results, or results you didn’t expect. There may also be some side effects from Botox if it isn’t administered correctly, including swelling, drooping or bruising on the injection site. A full consultation with the practitioner is essential to discuss expected results and possible side effects.
Does Botox hurt?
For most patients Botox doesn’t hurt. You may feel a slight sting at the injection site, or a dull ache or bruising post treatment. If you have a fear of needles then you must let the practitioner know.
How long does Botox last and how often would you get treatment?
Generally, Botox will last around 3-4 months, in particular for treatment on the forehead, for migraines or bruxism. Botox for excessive sweating may last longer, any time between 4-9 months, but this should be discussed with your practitioner at the consultation.
