Dr Patel was amongst the thousands of people who braved the pouring rain and completed the Yorkshire marathon at the weekend. Gita wanted to show her support and also completed a run, the Yorkshire 10 mile! This popular and picturesque run took them past some of York’s splendid historic sites and along scenic country lanes, making it an attractive prospect for runners of all abilities.
Dr Patel ran the marathon for Motor Neurone Disease and found himself placed in the top 25% for his age group which is a great achievement and his final time for 26.2 miles was 3 hours 56 minutes (making it 4 minutes short of 4 hours which he is glad about!)
He looks forward to completing the London Marathon next year!
