The Obagi Peel is a deep physician administered peel that is used for the face and under the eyes. Following this, you will notice that the skin looks brighter and any pigmentation will be reduced. To prepare the skin before this treatment, the Obagi range of products should be used for 6 weeks prior to the peel.

Obagi Blue Skin Peel is a quick, relatively simple and tolerable treatment which in most cases does not require sedation. The skin is prepped and cleansed and application takes between 30-45 minutes, depending on the number of coats the Doctor has determined are necessary for you.
Slight shedding should occur within three days and is expected to last for a week or so, but this is a natural side effect of cell renewal, so nothing to be worried about. Once your skin has completed the shedding process, you will immediately notice the dramatic results of your skin’s appearance over the next four to six weeks becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful.
Skin peels are commonly for the facial area only.
The Doctor will advise how many treatments are necessary to give you your desired result. In most cases, between one and three Obagi Blue Skin Peel treatments can achieve dramatic improvements for many skin types and conditions. Obagi Blue Skin Peels can be performed, according to different strengths anything between six and twenty-six weeks intervals until your desired goals are reached.
The main Contra-indication of this treatment is pregnancy however you may also be an unsuitable candidate due to active infections, cold sores or if you are using any harsh products. If you are using any retinol or glycolic based products, usage must be stopped 48 Hours prior to the treatment. After the procedure, you will experience slight swelling and your skin will begin to peel within 2 to 3 days. The peeling will continue over the next several days and should be healed in an average of 7 to 10 days.
When your skin has completely finished peeling, you will immediately notice the dramatic results of your newly improved complexion. Your skin’s appearance will continue to improve for the next 4 to 6 weeks, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful.
There are minimal side effects with the peel however some candidates experience a stinging/burning nation as well minor swelling. It is always best to consult the aesthetician prior to treatment.
